Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure for enterprise IT workloads and modern platforms. The role is hybrid, based in Bethesda with some onsite requirements and collaboration with IT Ops and security teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience operating production cloud environments
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity concepts
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in Azure
• Experience designing secure Azure networking architectures
• Familiarity with Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and Azure SQL backup models
• Experience supporting modern application platforms in Azure
• Financial services or regulated-industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and core platform services
• Own reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of production Azure environments
• Troubleshoot incidents across compute, storage, and networking, IaC
• Build and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent
• Promote repeatable, version-controlled deployments
• Design and maintain secure Azure network architectures, including Private Endpoints and Private Link
• Lead and participate in backup and disaster recovery testing
• Partner with application development teams to support PaaS and CI/CD pipelines
• Translate application requirements into scalable Azure infrastructure designs
