We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect Senior to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced cloud architectures across enterprise environments. This role is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions while ensuring alignment with cybersecurity standards, enterprise policies, and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership for complex cloud initiatives, guiding multi-disciplinary teams in the implementation of secure cloud infrastructure and architectural frameworks. The architect will also drive innovation by incorporating industry’s best practices, lessons learned, and emerging technologies into future cloud environments. This position requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, cybersecurity integration, and systems engineering across the full lifecycle of cloud infrastructure development.

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance Required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale Azure cloud architectures, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Integrate new architectural capabilities into existing cloud environments while maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams in the design, implementation, and deployment of secure cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity architecture.
• Apply cybersecurity standards, policies, directives, and guidance to enterprise cloud architecture frameworks.
• Develop and implement cloud architecture strategies aligned with enterprise IT modernization initiatives.
• Compile industry best practices, security standards, and lessons learned into future architectural designs and cloud hosting environments.
• Provide leadership across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Identify and resolve complex cloud architecture and integration issues during system implementation and testing phases.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, security teams, and government clients, to ensure secure and compliant cloud deployments.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance on cybersecurity initiatives related to cloud architecture design and development.
• Drive innovation and architectural improvements across enterprise cloud platforms and hosting environments.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, cybersecurity architecture, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security architecture, enterprise networking, identity management, and zero‑trust principles.
• Proven experience applying cybersecurity standards, policies, and compliance frameworks to cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams in complex architecture design and cloud implementation initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence technical strategy.
• Experience supporting federal or regulated environments with strict cybersecurity requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in multi‑cloud architectures, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with cloud automation, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) such as Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, Zero Trust Architecture).
• Experience designing secure hybrid cloud or government cloud environments.
• Demonstrated leadership as a recognized authority in cloud architecture and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Experience integrating security, monitoring, and compliance frameworks into cloud architecture.

Certifications

• IAT Level II certification required.
• Two or more cloud certifications are required (Azure preferred).
