Job summary

Raymond James is seeking a Lead Engineer / AWS Solutions Architect in St. Petersburg, FL, to architect and implement secure, scalable cloud-native solutions for Financial Crimes applications. The role combines solution architecture with hands-on engineering across cloud infra, data engineering, and enterprise integrations.

The position follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the St. Petersburg corporate office, with collaboration across security, data, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, analytics, integration, and serverless technologies.
• Experience designing cloud-native, microservices, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong experience building enterprise data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration frameworks, and data warehousing.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, REST APIs, and CI/CD with IaC.
• Strong understanding of AWS security, networking, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of secure, scalable AWS solutions for Financial Crimes applications.
• Design cloud-native apps, data platforms, and integration solutions using microservices and serverless architectures.
• Develop and optimize enterprise data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration frameworks.
• Define cloud architecture standards, security controls, networking, observability, and IaC practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.
