Job summary

City Electric Supply is seeking an AWS Software Engineer to join the City IT Integrations team in Dallas. You will help build enterprise-grade, serverless applications that connect CES internal systems with third-party services across 1,000+ branches worldwide.

This role focuses on designing and delivering AWS-based integrations using TypeScript, Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, and Step Functions, with SOLID design principles and scalable CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with TypeScript.
• Hands-on with AWS serverless services in a microservices environment.
• Experience with CDK for infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling.
• Proficiency with Git/GitLab for source control and collaboration.
• Exposure to event-driven system design and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AWS serverless solutions and enterprise-grade applications using TypeScript.

Summary

As an AWS Software Engineer on the City IT Integrations team, you'll help build the core integration technology that connects CES's internal systems and third-party services across a company operating 1,000+ branches worldwide. This is a chance to build enterprise grade, serverless applications that support real scale, and to grow your skills on a team working on how a growing company's systems talk to each other.

Essential Job Functions

• Design, develop, and implement AWS serverless solutions and enterprise grade applications, using TypeScript to deliver robust integration technologies.
• Work closely with engineering teams across the company to support smooth integration between internal systems and third-party services.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using AWS tools such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy for consistent, reliable software delivery.
• Write well-structured code that follows SOLID design principles, clean code practices, and REST standards.
• Contribute to the team's AWS cloud applications and services, participating in code reviews and technical discussions.

Qualifications: Education/Experience

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with solid TypeScript development skills.
• Hands on experience with AWS services in a serverless first, microservices oriented environment, including:
  • Compute: Lambda, ECS, Fargate
  • Storage and Data: S3, DynamoDB, RDS
  • Integration: API Gateway, AppSync, Step Functions, EventBridge
  • Security and Identity: IAM, Cognito
  • Networking: VPC, CloudFront, Route 53
• Familiarity with CDK for defining cloud infrastructure as code.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using AWS tooling.
• Proficiency with Git/GitLab for source control and team collaboration.
• Exposure to designing or supporting event driven systems.
