Job summary

Cognizant seeks an experienced Senior AWS Security Architect to lead cloud security strategy, architecture, and governance across enterprise AWS environments. You will advise client security leadership and design secure cloud solutions to strengthen posture.

The role demands deep AWS security and networking expertise, strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive architectural decisions across complex projects. Remote work arrangements apply.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Security Architecture, Cloud Security, or related disciplines.
  • Deep expertise in AWS security services, IAM, governance, threat protection, and enterprise cloud security architecture.
  • Strong AWS networking experience, including VPCs, network segmentation, transit gateways, routing, and security groups.
  • Experience implementing enterprise security solutions, including Palo Alto or similar firewall technologies within AWS environments.
  • Proven ability to define security standards, influence senior stakeholders, and lead large-scale cloud security initiatives.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Security Architect to lead cloud security strategy, architecture, and governance across enterprise AWS environments. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to client security leadership, helping design secure cloud solutions, strengthen security posture, and drive key architectural decisions. The ideal candidate combines deep AWS security and networking expertise with strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

In this role, you will:

What you need to have to be considered:

  • Cross-cloud security expertise across AWS and Azure environments.

  • Experience supporting security architecture within highly regulated enterprise environments.

  • Knowledge of industry frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, and enterprise risk management practices.

Salary and compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be between $119,000 to 140,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
