Scale AI, Inc. is seeking an Operations-focused AWS Engineer to own the AWS infrastructure lifecycle, patching, and security hardening for large-scale environments. You will partner with Security to remediate vulnerabilities and work on optimization for performance and cost-efficiency.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting, and incident response, with exposure to multi-cloud capabilities and security compliance. Strong communication and learning mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS) and multi-account management.
• Proven track record of large-scale patching programs and major version upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Proficiency with AWS Systems Manager (SSM), Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes for configuration management & automation.
• Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python) to automate operational workflows; focus on system management.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and hardening cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar monitoring/metrics tools.

Responsabilités

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our AWS infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and maintenance for high availability.
• Identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across the cloud footprint in collaboration with Security Team.
• Continuously monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and automation tools (fleet-wide patching, audits).
• Provide expertise for troubleshooting infrastructure-level issues and participate in health reviews.
• Build and maintain systems that adhere to strict security standards and compliance requirements.
