Job summary

Amazon in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead a cloud governance and auditing platform within AWS CloudTrail. You will guide a development team building large‑scale, data‑driven systems and partner with product, security, and finance stakeholders to shape strategy and delivery.

You will own end-to-end outcomes, establish AI-assisted development workflows, and hire/retain top talent while driving high-impact programs across internal organizations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcomes, not just engineering delivery.
• Lead executive alignment (VP-level reviews) and direct customer/partner engagement.
• Influence strategies such as PRFAQs and Pricing.
• Establish AI-assisted development workflows and scalable processes.
• Manage resources and multiple projects across internal organizations.
