Webuters is looking for a Senior AWS DevOps & Kubernetes Engineer with a strong understanding of AWS architecture, Kubernetes, Linux systems, networking, security, infrastructure automation, and production operations.
You will design, build, secure, and manage cloud environments supporting enterprise applications, modernization projects, and AI-powered platforms. This role requires someone who can independently own infrastructure from architecture and deployment to monitoring, troubleshooting, cost optimization, and disaster recovery.
Strong hands-on experience managing production Kubernetes workloads on Amazon EKS is mandatory. We are looking for an engineer who understands how systems work, can explain architectural trade-offs, and can resolve complex production issues not simply configure tools or execute deployment pipelines.
Design and operate secure, scalable, and highly available AWS environments. Manage networking, compute, storage, databases, load balancing, DNS, and content delivery. Recommend infrastructure based on application requirements, security, reliability, performance, and cost.
Provision, configure, and manage production Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS. Own cluster upgrades, worker-node management, workload deployment, autoscaling, access controls, networking, and storage integration.
Establish appropriate namespace separation, resource allocation, health checks, workload availability, and deployment standards. Troubleshoot issues across clusters, nodes, pods, services, networking, and persistent storage.
Build reusable, version-controlled infrastructure using Terraform or an equivalent framework. Manage infrastructure state, environment separation, configuration changes, and deployment consistency across development, staging, and production.
Automate repetitive operational tasks using Bash and/or Python and reduce dependency on manual infrastructure changes.
Build and maintain deployment pipelines using tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline. Integrate automated testing, security scanning, secrets management, approval workflows, and rollback mechanisms.
Manage container image builds and registries, Helm-based deployments, and controlled application releases. Work with development teams to make deployments repeatable, traceable, and reliable.
Implement least-privilege access, secure workload identities, secrets management, encryption, patching, audit logging, and vulnerability remediation.
Apply security controls across AWS accounts, Kubernetes clusters, containers, and deployment pipelines. Identify infrastructure risks and work with teams to resolve them.
Implement actionable monitoring, centralized logging, dashboards, and alerts for infrastructure, Kubernetes, and applications. Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
Define and maintain backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures. Regularly test recovery processes rather than relying solely on successful backup jobs.
Analyze resource utilization and optimize AWS services, Kubernetes workloads, node capacity, and storage. Configure appropriate scaling policies and identify unnecessary spending without compromising security or availability.
Collaborate with developers, architects, QA engineers, and project stakeholders. Maintain architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, deployment documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
Review infrastructure changes, mentor engineers, communicate risks early, and take ownership of operational outcomes.
in DevOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, or related roles, with substantial hands-on AWS and production Kubernetes experience.
Demonstrated ownership of infrastructure design, deployments, production support, troubleshooting, and operational improvements.
Strong practical experience with EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, Route 53, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
Solid understanding of public and private subnets, routing, NAT gateways, security groups, network ACLs, availability zones, encryption, and high-availability design. Ability to explain the reliability, security, and cost implications of architecture decisions.
Strong experience independently managing production Kubernetes environments, particularly Amazon EKS. Candidates should be comfortable with:
Amazon ECS experience is an added advantage, not a substitute for Kubernetes and EKS expertise.
Strong Linux administration skills, including processes, services, permissions, storage, resource utilization, and log analysis.
Practical understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS certificates, firewalls, and reverse proxies such as NGINX or Apache. Ability to troubleshoot across application, operating system, container, network, and cloud infrastructure layers.
Strong experience with Terraform, or equivalent depth in another Infrastructure as Code framework, including reusable modules, state management, version control, and controlled infrastructure changes.
Proficiency in Bash and/or Python for automation and operational tooling.
Strong Docker skills, including image creation, optimization, registry management, and container troubleshooting.
Experience building and maintaining production deployment pipelines, managing environment configuration and secrets, deploying applications with Helm, and implementing safe release and rollback strategies.
Practical experience with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalent monitoring and logging platforms.
Understanding of IAM policies, Kubernetes access controls, secrets management, encryption, audit logging, vulnerability remediation, backup retention, and recovery testing. Familiarity with recovery time and recovery point objectives and their implications for infrastructure design.
Ability to work independently, prioritize operational risks, collaborate effectively with development teams, and explain technical decisions clearly.
A proactive approach to documentation, incident communication, root-cause analysis, and preventing recurring problems.
Secure, reliable, and well-documented AWS and Kubernetes environments; repeatable deployments with tested rollback procedures; actionable monitoring; validated recovery processes; fewer recurring production issues; and clear visibility into infrastructure costs.
Candidates should be prepared to discuss infrastructure they have personally built, Kubernetes environments they have operated, production incidents they have resolved, and the reasoning behind their architecture decisions. Certifications are valued, but demonstrated hands-on capability is essential.
