Job summary

ECCO Select seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Application Engineer to design, develop, and modernize enterprise apps in a secure AWS environment. You will build Python-based microservices, serverless apps, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines, leveraging CDK and IaC.

The role demands hands-on cloud development, collaboration with stakeholders, and strong software engineering fundamentals. Onsite in Washington, DC with U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in CS, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software development in formal SDLC/Agile environments.
• Strong Python development experience with modern frameworks and testing libraries.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions for cloud/serverless apps.
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines for cloud apps.
• Strong RESTful API design, service interfaces, versioning, and error handling.
• Git-based version control with branching, MR, and reviews.
• Experience with core AWS services: DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
• Experience with containerized apps using Docker.
• IaC concepts/tools: AWS CDK and Terraform.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade Python applications and microservices.
• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK and IaC practices.
• Design and implement complex business/workflows with AWS Step Functions.
• Develop serverless applications using AWS Lambda and related services.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs with versioning and error handling.
• Build and support containerized apps using Docker.
• Implement logging/monitoring/audit with CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment deployments.
• Write/maintain unit and integration tests; perform code remediation.
• Code reviews focusing on maintainability, performance, security.
• Utilize Git-based workflows with branching and MRs.
• Document application and cloud architecture; support decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in an Agile SDLC with iterative development and deployment.
