Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Senior AWS Application Architect to design scalable cloud-native enterprise apps on AWS and drive AI-enabled agentic solutions. The role emphasizes translating architectural designs into production-ready systems and leading cross-functional teams.

The candidate will work primarily remotely with monthly onsite collaboration in the Baltimore area, engaging with software, cloud, and AI teams to shape architectural strategy and best practices.

Qualifications

Senior AWS Application Architect (AI & Agentic Systems)

Contract to Hire position - W2 Candidates Only Please Location: Mostly remote, spending one Monday to Thursday onsite per month in Sparks, MD (expenses reimbursed)

Position Overview

INSPYR Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Application Architect (AI & Agentic Systems) to support a large-scale cloud-native application development initiative for one of our clients. This individual will play a key role in designing scalable, secure, and modern enterprise applications on AWS while helping incorporate emerging AI capabilities into the broader technology environment. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded AWS Application or Solutions Architect with deep experience in cloud-native application architecture, microservices, Kubernetes/EKS, and distributed systems, along with practical experience designing agentic AI solutions using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. This role requires a strong foundation in traditional application architecture combined with the ability to architect and integrate AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications on AWS.
• Develop application architecture strategies leveraging microservices, APIs, containerization, and distributed systems.
• Provide architectural direction for applications deployed using Amazon EKS/Kubernetes.

• Support the integration of AI capabilities into existing and newly developed enterprise applications.
• Partner with senior technical leadership on architectural decisions and technology strategy.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and architecting enterprise-scale applications on AWS.
• Strong background in cloud-native application architecture, including microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on architectural experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
• Demonstrated experience designing complex applications, including application components, integrations, and service-to-service communication.
• Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, including the design or implementation of agentic AI solutions.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture, security, scalability, and reliability best practices.
• Experience collaborating with software development teams and providing technical architectural guidance.
• Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
• Experience with Go/Golang and Python.
• Familiarity with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, RAG, AI agents, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with LangGraph, MCP, Strands Agents SDK, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing SaaS applications or large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Experience with greenfield application development or application modernization initiatives.
• Experience mentoring developers and guiding architectural decisions across engineering teams.

Work Arrangement

This position is primarily remote, with onsite collaboration required approximately one week per month in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Travel will be scheduled in advance. Candidates located within reasonable driving distance are preferred, although candidates outside the area may be considered.
