Stanford University seeks an Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director of Stanford Career Education (AVP/ED) to integrate academic excellence with career readiness and student success. The AVP/ED will lead CareerEd and shape career development across Stanford, aligning undergraduate and graduate education with post-graduate outcomes.

Reporting to Undergraduate Education, the AVP/ED will build strong partnerships with faculty, students, alumni, and employers, steering a high-performing team

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience; experience in higher education setting strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to manage budgets and programs at scale.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.

Aufgaben

• Direct efforts of managers; develop leadership pipelines, hire, coach, and mentor staff.
• Provide strategic direction for a major academic function, including programs, budget, facilities, and staff.
• Lead planning and policy development with senior leadership for a school or program.
• Make independent decisions on projects and initiatives with substantial university impact.
• Oversee compliance with policies, regulations, and external requirements.
• Negotiate and influence on matters of university-wide impact across units.
• Serve as senior advisor to the dean on programmatic and policy development.
• Drive major initiatives and innovations in student services and campus life.
• Represent programs at senior meetings and external meetings; partner across campus on new initiatives.
