Job summary

FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Orlando is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Commercial Portfolio Officer to oversee the health and performance of the commercial loan portfolio. You will evaluate opportunities, monitor risk, and coordinate with credit, risk management, and external institutions to ensure sound portfolio administration and regulatory compliance.

You will lead participation activities, analyze financials, prepare reports, and escalate material concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years in commercial lending, credit, portfolio management, or related financial services.
• Strong commercial credit analysis and financial statement analysis skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with CRE, C&I lending, portfolio monitoring, or credit risk management preferred.
• Experience with loan participations, syndications, or shared credit structures preferred.
• Formal credit training is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication across departments and with partners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary commercial credit resource for participation and syndication activities, including evaluation and monitoring.
• Analyze financial condition, creditworthiness, and risk characteristics of institutions.
• Administer loan participations, including reporting, covenant monitoring, and servicing communication.
• Monitor portfolio performance and analyze trends in concentrations, asset quality, and risk migration.
• Prepare portfolio reports, credit summaries, risk assessments, and leadership recommendations.
• Support portfolio risk oversight by monitoring critical relationships and escalating concerns.
• Build relationships with participation partners, originating institutions, and external stakeholders.
• Identify emerging portfolio risks and communicate findings to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with policies, participation requirements, and regulatory guidance.
