Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an Avionics Test Engineer to design and execute testing strategies for the Terran R vehicle. You will build automation, develop calibration methods, and partner with hardware and software teams to ensure robust avionics performance.

The Avionics Test & Operations team leads test planning, equipment design, and system validation across the product lifecycle, enabling rapid, reliable progress in a pioneering rocket program.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical, Computer or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• +5 years of experience with electronics hardware testing or simulation.
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control platforms (NI, Beckhoff, etc.).
• Experience with power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and loads.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI protocols; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop frameworks for qualification and acceptance testing of avionics components on Terran R.
• Design test equipment: simulation circuits, harnesses, fixtures, and validation tools.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to derive test requirements.
• Create and maintain test plans and procedures for avionics systems.
• Integrate, commission, and operate test rack hardware and software for functional testing.
