Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Avionics Automation Test Engineer I to automate testing of avionics and satellites. You will architect and deploy the internal test-automation platform, own campaign-level automation, and help establish best practices and coding standards across hardware and software validation.

Requirements include 5+ years in space systems, 4+ years Python, strong Linux skills, mentoring experience, a bachelor’s degree, and willingness to obtain a Top Secret

Qualifications

• 5+ years in space systems, ideally with spacecraft test or software background.
• 4+ years of Python programming in distributed apps.
• Strong Linux knowledge and CLI proficiency.
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead test automation deployment for spacecraft programs.
• Own test automation for AIT campaigns across the program life cycle.
• Develop, review and maintain automated test processes for hardware/software validation.
• Integrate test equipment and spacecraft interfaces into the platform.
• Contribute to core platform development including backend services.
