Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Olathe, KS is seeking a Senior Advanced Electrical Engineer to create avionics design changes and provide expert product design guidance. You will work on a hybrid schedule and collaborate with teams across global centers to sustain and grow the business.

The GPES team focuses on improving supply chain performance by maintaining and upgrading avionics designs for products in manufacturing, coordinating with design, test, manufacturing, and production staff.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 6+ years in the avionics or electronics industry.
• Familiarity with FAR 21 and DO-160/DO-254 guidelines.
• Ability to assess business impact of engineering solutions.
• Ability to learn and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Use advanced avionics knowledge to complete engineering tasks.
• Provide design expertise to multiple teams to resolve issues and implement changes.
• Support transitions from development to manufacturing and gain design authority.
• Review and approve class II product changes with coordination for approvals.
• Contribute to field failure investigations and FRACAS activities.
• Provide MRB disposition authority for nonconforming parts.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve supply chain issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and help revise GPES engineering processes.
