Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Crew Chief to lead developmental flight test activities for revolutionary products. You will manage mechanical readiness, coordinate maintenance, and report on aircraft readiness to the test program, collaborating with leadership and multiple departments.

The role requires 8+ years in airframe and powerplant, TS clearance, and the ability to rapidly adapt in a fast-paced environment. Travel and eventual A&P licensing within one year are expected.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of airframe and powerplant experience.
  • Active TS Clearance, investigation within 5 years or continuous evaluation.
  • Willing to obtain A&P license within 1 year.
  • Proven ability to travel as required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform flight test maintenance including modification, instrumentation, documentation, and post-flight analysis.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, rig, and repair aircraft and subsystems.
  • Conduct ground operations including launch, recovery, and engine run-ups.
  • Execute standard preflight maintenance on fixed/rotary wing aircraft.
  • Complete aircraft and equipment documentation.
  • Develop procedures and validate components.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain site support equipment.
  • Communicate mechanical assessments with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Assist with validation and testing of electronic components using test equipment.

This position will be filled by a highly motivated Senior Crew Chief with a passion for developmental flight test of a new and revolutionary products contributing valued mechanical expertise in all fields of aircraft maintenance. You will work heavily with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross-departments to help build a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. The role will be responsible for aircraft mechanical assessment, maintenance coordination, flight execution, and reporting on all facets of aircraft readiness to the test program.

The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril works across the entire spectrum of products and business lines, as well as all flight operations and test range management. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new production acceptance testing, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test, we support it. What You’ll Do
  • Perform many aspects of flight test maintenance including modification, instrumentation, documentation, and post flight analysis.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, rig and repair aircraft and aircraft subsystems.
  • Conduct a variety of aircraft ground operations including Launch, Recovery, and Ground Engine run-up.
  • Perform standard preflight maintenance on fixed or rotary wing aircraft.
  • Complete aircraft and equipment documentation.
  • Procedural Development
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain site support equipment.
  • Communicate mechanical assessment with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
  • Assist with validation and testing of various electronic components using equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and test racks.
  • Perform proper FOD and tool control practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications).
  • Willing to be multi-capable. Which shall include some electronics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Active TS Clearance, investigation within 5 years or continuous evaluation.
  • 8 years or more of airframe and powerplant experience.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a fast paced, challenging work environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain A&P license within 1 year.
  • In this role, you will be subject to pre-employment and randomized substance screening, as required by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years or more Test and Evaluation experience, including Flight Test.
  • 5 years or more Field Service Representative experience
  • Valid A&P license.

US Hourly Range: $41 - $53 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
