Job summary

UPMC is seeking an experienced full-time Operations Control Specialist II for the STAT MedEvac Aviation Department. You will monitor flight status, issue flight releases, perform preflight risk analyses, and coordinate with pilots to ensure safe flight completion.

Responsibilities include maintaining flight following, ensuring airworthiness, compliance with regulations, and accurate documentation. Strong communication and aviation knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with flight crews and operations.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with flight following systems.
• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and GOM/OpSpecs and Training Manual guidance.
• Ability to interpret METARs and TAFs and perform risk analyses as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive flight following for all CEM aircraft and ensure proper flight planning and weight/balance.
• Verify pilot rest, duty and flight time restrictions per Federal Regulations and company standards.
• Inform Command of flight conditions, weather, and TFRs; coordinate with communications center for problem solving.
• Complete flight release logs and all required documentation accurately and timely (payroll, expenses, training).
• Demonstrate knowledge of FARs and CEM procedures including GOM and OpSpecs.
