Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Autonomy Core Frameworks. You will architect and advance foundational frameworks powering the autonomous driving stack and collaborate with Behavior and Perception teams to ensure robust, scalable, and safe operation across the platform.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural direction, and champion testing, observability, and production readiness to support growing autonomy capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with architecture ownership
• Deep experience with C++17 and modern standards
• Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or distributed embedded environments
• Strong testing, CI, and build systems background
• Mentoring engineers and setting engineering standards

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of core autonomy frameworks
• Drive real-time C++ components for reliable data flow
• Shape long-term platform design and architectural tradeoffs
• Collaborate with Behavior and Perception teams on integration boundaries
• Lead reviews and raise engineering standards across the stack
• Provide technical coaching and mentorship to engineers
• Advance validation, observability, and production-readiness practices
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and platform improvements
• Define simulation/validation frameworks for testing
• Evaluate new architectural patterns and research directions
• Communicate complex ideas to teams and leadership
