Job summary

MITRE in Massachusetts seeks a senior professional to lead autonomy and AI strategy across government mission areas. You will guide development, evaluation, and deployment of autonomous systems, working with cross‑functional teams to align technical approaches with governance frameworks.

You will engage sponsors and industry partners, translate complex concepts for diverse audiences, and ensure mission alignment while maintaining security compliance and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in Autonomy and AI with relevant degree or 8 years with Master’s or PhD.
• Experience with autonomous platforms in multiple domains (air, ground, maritime, space).
• Excellent technical writing and communication, sponsor relations, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives for autonomous systems deployment across government mission areas.
• Define and execute strategy for AI/autonomy applications including testing and evaluation.
• Provide technical leadership on cross-functional teams to improve system performance.
• Maintain knowledge of advances in autonomy and robotics and advise sponsors.
• Engage sponsors, industry, and internal leadership on strategic and policy considerations.
