Job summary

CarMax in West Point, VA is hiring a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards. You will work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility and gain hands-on experience with domestic and foreign models.

The role requires experience in engine, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC, with ASE certifications preferred. You must handle lifting, stay safety-conscious, and maintain a valid driver's license; sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Able to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications in listed areas as required by state/local law.
