Job summary

Bruce's Tire & Auto Service in California is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles safely and efficiently, following MAP guidelines and Bruce's standards. The technician will perform multi-point inspections, explain diagnostics to customers, and recommend needed services to keep vehicles running smoothly.

ASE certification and a valid driver's license are preferred. Compensation is $30–$50 per hour with productivity bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience as an automotive technician with a focus on diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; ASE certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses vehicles according to appropriate certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection/Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (store manager, service consultants, customers).
• Recommends services to keep the vehicle running and documents recommendations in the customer file.
• Follows safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

The Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturer’s, and Bruce's standards.

COMPENSATION: $30/hr - $50/hr, to include hourly plus productivity bonus.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

Qualifications:

• Experienced senior automitive technician
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training
• Possess valid driver’s license
• Ability to work five days per week
