Job summary

HIROTEC Corporation in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Senior System Layout Designer to develop comprehensive layouts for automotive assembly and stamping lines, integrating processes, tooling and robotics to meet project specifications and optimize manufacturing flow.

You will collaborate with processing, design and simulation teams, perform field checks, create equipment blocks and models, and apply block libraries to produce valid, actionable layouts that align with customer requirements and

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Engineering, or similar field.
7–10 years related experience and/or training.
Knowledge in blueprint reading, design, processing, controls, and manufacturing.
Understanding of standard drafting practices, detailing, dimensioning and projection.
Able to understand basic manufacturing plant structure, processing and material flow.
Proficient in AutoCAD & FactoryCAD; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience in Catia and UniGraphics preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Preparing system layouts of automotive assembly/stamping lines or various processes.
Performing field checks and documenting findings.
Creating equipment blocks, models generic tooling, and using block libraries.
Working with internal teams including; processing, design and simulation to achieve a valid system layout.
Applying tooling/robot placement to attain a functional system.
Adhering to customer specifications per project.
Having a good understanding of assembly/stamping system functionality including process, design, robotics, controls, and manufacturing knowledge.
