Job summary

BWI Group seeks a Core Development Engineer – Air Compressor Specialist to lead design and development of high-performance automotive air compressor assemblies, pneumatic delivery units, and thermal management technologies. You will translate pneumatic and thermal requirements into robust, scalable designs and drive them from concept through validation and production readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience focused on automotive suspension systems, chassis components, pneumatic pumps, or fluid-delivery hardware.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and pneumatic control principles.
  • Experience with validation/testing (bench, rig, and vehicle-level).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of air compressor assemblies and related components.
  • Optimize components for volumetric efficiency and thermal dissipation.
  • Develop thermal management strategies and control algorithms.
  • Design acoustic packaging and NVH mitigation strategies.
  • Perform simulations and analyses to evaluate performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate into air suspension architectures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of compressor system failures.
  • Document engineering processes and safety standards.
  • Interface with OEM customers on specifications and validation criteria.
