Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an experienced Automation Engineering, Sr. Technician for the Lincoln, NE facility on the 3rd shift. The role involves developing, designing, building and testing robotic platforms from prototype to product commercialization.

You will program PLCs, read schematics, and design simple electronic control systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance robotic applications.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree with 2-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• Strong communication, deadline management, attention to detail, problem-solving, numerical, computer, technical, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
• Program, install, test, and maintain robots or automated components.
• Assist in commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conduct field trials and prepare reports.
• Investigate defects or bugs, perform repairs and provide preventative maintenance.
