Job summary

Hire Consulting Services seeks an Automation Solutions Consultant based in North Louisiana (Ruston) to lead complex projects from concept to commissioning. You will architect control systems, configure PLC/HMI/SCADA, and mentor teams while interfacing with clients and vendors across industries.

The role requires deep multi‑platform expertise, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimal oversight on high‑impact automation initiatives. Occasional travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years hands‑on experience in automation engineering.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs and related drawings.
• Design and implement industrial automation systems with leadership.
• Proven project management and leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
• Ability to learn and train others, with minimal oversight.
• Education in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform project-related engineering services including estimation, design, programming, documentation, and commissioning.
• Provide senior technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of complex automation solutions.
• Serve as primary technical liaison between customer and company.
• Develop scope of work packages, proposals, and project cost estimates.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS platforms.
• Support sales with technical expertise and documentation.
• Travel to client facilities for technical sales support and reviews.
• Stay current with automation trends and best practices.
• Analyze requirements and propose optimized solutions with resource planning.
