Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation in Fort Valley, GA, seeks a Senior Automation Specialist, Fabrication and Weld, to drive automation across manufacturing, including welding and fabrication processes. You will develop and sustain automated equipment, validate performance targets, and collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams on scalable solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in fabrication/welding, AWS-CWI, and a strong automation background.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
AWS-CWI certification required or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
5+ years of experience in fabrication and welding.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.

Responsibilities

Design, specify, program, and commission automated manufacturing equipment including robotics and motion systems.
Develop, test, and maintain PLC control logic for automation equipment; build HMI interfaces for diagnostics and operator interaction.
Define and validate equipment capability (Cp/Cpk, OEE, MTBF/MTTR) to meet production and quality targets.
Lead equipment FAT, SAT and Run-at-Rate activities and support integration with suppliers/integrators.
