Creative Information Technology, Inc. (CITI) seeks a Senior Automation Engineer for the NC DHHS NC FAST project. The role is onsite in Falls Church, with responsibilities spanning automation of build, deploy, and operations.

You will drive infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD improvements, and reliable deployments across environments. Strong expertise in Linux, Ansible (Tower/AWX), YAML, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Python/Bash scripting is required, along with 7+ years in automation and 2+

Qualificações

• 7 years experience with automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using automation tools such as Ansible.
• 3 years hands-on experience with BitBucket or GIT Source Code Management tool.
• 7 years hands-on experience in automating build/deploy process including changes to database using Ansible.
• 7 years experience with developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python/Bash/Shell.
• 2 years experience building and packaging applications with Docker and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes.
• 4 years experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible.
• 2 years of hands-on experience developing and managing CI/CD (DevOps) pipelines using TeamCity, Jenkins, and Ansible.
• 2 years of strong knowledge and understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and infrastructure is highly desired.

Responsabilidades

Role and Responsibilities

State of North Carolina - DHHS , is looking for Senior Automation engineer. Work schedule is onsite - Durham County, NC

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires the assistance of a Senior Automation engineer to help automate and improve the build, deploy and operation of (NC FAST) Applications.

The primary role is to lead Automation effort of infrastructure provisioning, build and deploy activities for NC FAST applications. This position must demonstrate a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and software release life cycle.

The role involves creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks, troubleshooting automation issues, ensuring consistent and reliable deployments across environments, and collaborating with DevOps and application teams to enhance CI/CD workflows. Strong knowledge of Linux, Ansible Tower/AWX, YAML, automation best practices, and infrastructure-as-code principles is required. Experience with debugging deployments, validating configurations, and improving release reliability is a plus.

The position will work with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuous integration and Continuous deployment (CI/CD) of application changes. This position will interact with the architects, developers, deployment Team, and Database Administrators to ensure automation of various tasks.

This position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends as required to meet business needs.

7 Years experience with automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using automation tools such as Ansible.

3 Years of hands‑on Experience (like branching, merging, configuring, and administering) with BitBucket or GIT Source Code Management tool.

7 Years of hands‑on experience in Automating build/deploy process including changes to database using tools like Ansible.

7 Years experience with developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python/Bash/Shell.

2 Years experience building and packaging applications with Docker and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes.

4 Years experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible.

2 Years of hands‑on experience developing and managing CI/CD (DevOps) pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, and Ansible.

Preferred Qualifications

2 Years of strong knowledge and understanding of Amazon web Services and infrastructure - highly desired.
