Job summary

AbbVie seeks an experienced IT/Automation Lead to maintain and advance the companys Automation Applications, Process Control, and MES landscape. You will ensure system availability, create performance metrics, and collaborate with Digital Systems and business teams to implement strategic roadmaps.

You will guide engineering teams, support validation and commissioning, and provide training for onsite users. Strong programming and PLC/HMI experience are required, with a focus on regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as Foxboro I/A, PlantPAx, DeltaV.
• Experience with data historians like OSISoft PI and CGDV/similar QC systems; familiarity with commissioning and validation.
• Solid knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) like POMSnet, Syncade, PAS-X.
• Proficiency in VB, C#, and related programming languages.
• Experience with FactoryTalk, Scada, PLCs (Allen-Bradley), and HMI development.

Responsibilities

• Lead/Support ongoing operation of Automation Applications, Process Control, and MES.
• Maintain system availability and produce performance metrics.
• Provide guidance on roadmaps for Automation Applications and Process Control.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and security across systems.
• Coordinate with Digital Systems and management to deliver strategic projects.
• Provide training and after-hours support as needed.
