Job summary

United Pharma seeks an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to support pharmaceutical manufacturing through automation system design, troubleshooting, implementation, and continuous improvement. Strong hands-on skills with Emerson DeltaV or Rockwell PlantPAx, batch control, and GMP environments are required.

Responsibilities include designing, configuring, and maintaining automation systems, supporting DCS/PLCs and historians, and leading validation activities in cGMP settings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in automation engineering.
• Hands-on with Emerson DeltaV or Rockwell PlantPAx DCS.
• Knowledge of ISA-88 batch control and batch reporting.
• Experience with OSIsoft/AVEVA PI or similar historians.
• GMP compliant environment experience.
• Experience leading automation projects and validation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations through automation system design, troubleshooting, implementation, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV or Rockwell PlantPAx, batch control systems, and GMP-regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain automation systems, PLCs, DCS, HMI/SCADA, and industrial I/O.
• Support Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell PlantPAx, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and data historians.
• Apply ISA-88 (S88) batch control principles and support batch reporting.
• Lead automation projects, system upgrades, commissioning, and validation activities.
• Develop and maintain FDS, software design documents, and validation protocols.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, GAMP 5, and FDA requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and IT/OT teams.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV or Rockwell PlantPAx DCS.
• Strong knowledge of ISA-88 batch control and batch reporting.
• Experience with data historians such as OSIsoft/AVEVA PI, Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, or DeltaV Continuous Historian.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, industrial networking, SQL Server, and GMP compliance.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating vendors, and supporting automation system validation.
