Job summary

Entegris in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to lead design, development, and optimization of advanced automation systems for our flagship facility. You will mentor junior engineers, drive projects from concept through implementation, ensuring safety, reliability, and scalability.

You will develop control schemes, vision-enabled inspection, and automated handling solutions while collaborating with global teams on standardization and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 6–10 years in industrial automation and controls; 2–5 years also welcome.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of advanced automation systems, robotics, and controls.
• Write, debug, and optimize PLC logic and HMI interfaces to improve cycle time and OEE.
• Develop automated inspection systems using vision, sensors, and gauging for part verification.
• Lead system commissioning, validation, and acceptance testing.
• Support root cause analysis for downtime, quality issues, and system failures.
• Drive equipment specification, vendor selection, and FAT/SAT tests.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety validations.
• Collaborate with global teams to standardize platforms and processes.
• Mentor engineers and technicians in automation best practices.
