Job summary
Planet Group seeks a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer for the Food & Beverage sector in Kansas City, MO. This direct hire role leads the automation and controls scope on major projects, directing a team of engineers, specialists, and designers, and coordinating with project managers, electrical, procurement, construction and other disciplines to ensure design integrity and successful commissioning.
The successful candidate will bring FE/PE considerations, strong knowledge of ANSI/IEEE
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree and FE exam completed.
- 7+ years electrical engineering experience.
- EPC project and automation experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and design practices.
- Willingness to travel and obtain TWIC if required.
Responsibilities
- Design Automation and Controls scope for the project.
- Lead a team of Automation and Controls Engineers, Specialists, and Designers.
- Interface with project team across multiple disciplines.
- Develop software design deliverables including PLC and HMI programming.
- Lead FATs, commissioning and startup activities.
- Prepare electrical design deliverables and vendor procurement.
