Siemens in Pomona, CA, is seeking a Senior Automation/Controls Engineer to own the site’s automation systems, architecture, and technology roadmap, leading PLC, HMI, and SCADA development. You will drive AMR and digital manufacturing initiatives from concept to startup and operational support.

You’ll integrate robotics, machine vision, and IT/OT convergence, while mentoring engineers and upholding safety, cybersecurity, and industry standards.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering
• Advanced experience with Siemens PLC platforms, TIA Portal, and STEP 7
• Experience with Node-RED, REST APIs, Python, Java, and software integrations
• Experience with SCADA, MES, and industrial Edge technologies
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols, including Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, and Profibus
• Proven project leadership, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Responsabilidades

• Owning the site’s automation systems, technical architecture, and technology roadmap while leading the design, programming, commissioning, and support of PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems.
• Independently driving automation projects—including AMR, PLC, Andon, and digital manufacturing initiatives from concept through startup and operational support.
• Integrating robotics, machine vision systems, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and automated equipment into manufacturing processes.
• Driving IT/OT integration and continuous improvement of MES and Edge applications using APIs, Node-RED, and modern software development practices.
• Troubleshooting complex controls, networking, and automation issues to minimize downtime, while partnering with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and IT teams to improve performance and reliability.
• Mentoring engineers, establishing automation standards and best practices, and ensuring compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and industry standards.

We are looking for a Senior Automation/Controls Engineer. This position will be based in Pomona, CA.

You’ll make a difference by:

• Experience with AMRs, industrial robotics (Yaskawa, FANUC, KUKA, Universal Robots), and machine vision systems.
• AutoCAD Electrical experience.
