Job summary

Kforce's client, a Suffolk County Long Island based full-service CPA firm, is seeking a Staff Auditor/Accountant to act as the in-charge auditor on diverse engagements. You will lead junior staff, develop testing strategies, and document work per GAAS standards.

The role requires a college degree in accounting (150 credits preferred), 3+ years of audit experience, and proficiency in Excel/Word. CPA is a plus, with strong communication and analytical skills essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 150 credits preferred.
• CPA credential is a plus.
• 3+ years of public accounting audit experience.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; US GAAP/GAAS understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead junior staff on engagements and manage project day-to-day.
• Develop testing strategies during planning and document per GAAS.
• Perform internal controls work, risk assessment, sampling.
• Perform substantive audit procedures in various areas including receivables, revenue, debt, net assets/equity.
• Prepare financial statements and management letters for engagements.
• Prepare nonprofit information returns (IRS Form 990 and NY CHAR500).
