Wipfli is seeking an Audit Accountant in Chicago to perform audits and related services with a hybrid work arrangement. This role involves planning, testing internal controls, and communicating with clients, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
• CPA certification preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA will be considered.
• 1–3 years of accounting related experience.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work on multiple tasks.
• Travel to client sites up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Audit financial statements, quarterly financial information, and clients' annual reports.
• Take part in pre-audit planning to assess risk of material misstatement and design procedures.
• Identify accounting and audit issues and perform research to solve issues.
• Test internal controls, policies, and procedures and make recommendations.
• Perform audits under GAAS, GAAP, PCAOB, AICPA standards, and SOX.
• Build relationships and communicate with clients and associates.
• Teach, train, and develop incoming staff/interns.
