Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Senior Associate (Audit & Tax) for our Detroit, MI office. You will lead audit engagements, supervise staff, and contribute to tax filings for diverse clients.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in public accounting, a BA/BS in Accounting (or equivalent), strong research and written English skills, and CPA status is preferred. You will mentor junior staff and support business development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• CPA license or similar certification preferred.
• German language skills helpful but not required.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements across multiple industries.
• Prepare and review Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
• Perform technical accounting research on diverse topics.
• Assist with preparation and review of ASC 740 tax provisions.
• Conduct tax consulting projects, including nexus studies.
• Stay current on tax law changes and perform in-depth research as needed.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients and respond to inquiries.
• Manage multiple engagements with timelines and client expectations.
• Delegate work and support staff development through training and feedback.
• Collaborate with partners on proposals and business development.
