Job summary

AZ Blue is seeking an Internal Audit professional to support financial controls and compliance within its hybrid Workability framework in Arizona. The role requires planning, performing, and following up on audits, and coordinating with management and external auditors to promote efficiency and protect assets.

The ideal candidate has 3 years in accounting/audit, 5 years in IA at BCBSAZ, and a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or healthcare-related field; CPA/CIA/CISA are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in accounting and/or auditing.
• 5 years of experience in the IA department at BCBSAZ.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a healthcare-related field of study.

Responsibilities

• Formulate plans for performing assignments.
• Assist Internal Audit management and external auditors as required.
• Assist teams in meeting project deadlines.
• Stay current with developments in the field of expertise.
• Assist the Internal Audit manager with special projects.
• Participate in interdepartmental teams as directed by the Internal Audit manager.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve questions or discrepancies.
• Work independently from the Internal Audit team.
• Assist project teams and identify opportunities and problems promptly.
• Understand project scope from end to end, including timetable, business processes, and cost.
• Assist project teams with the development and implementation of internal controls.
• Maintain Project Recommendations Follow Up records and distribute monthly status reports to Internal Audit and senior management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
