Job summary

Blue Signal seeks a Senior Audit Analytics & Automation Leader to modernize the enterprise audit function using data, automation, and AI. You will design the analytics roadmap, build workflows, and develop dashboards and automated testing to elevate risk coverage.

This is a high-visibility, executive-facing role requiring 12+ years in audit or analytics, Big Four background preferred, and fluency with SQL, Python, Power BI, Snowflake, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in internal or external audit, analytics, or risk.
• Big Four or national public accounting background preferred.
• Strong credibility in audit, risk, controls, SOX or finance processes.
• Experience using analytics, automation, AI, or emerging tech to improve processes.
• Proficient with SQL, Python, BI tools, and cloud platforms.
• Exposure to generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, or AI-enabled workflows.
• Ability to translate complex technical info into executive insights.

Senior Audit Analytics & Automation Leader

Location: Chicago, IL or Greater Cincinnati Area

Compensation: Competitive executive-level package expected to include low-to-mid $200Ks base compensation plus annual and long-term incentive opportunity.

We are seeking a senior audit leader to help modernize a large, complex audit function through advanced analytics, automation, and practical AI adoption. This is not a traditional audit maintenance role. It is a high-visibility opportunity to shape how a large enterprise audit team uses data, AI-enabled tools, automation, and continuous monitoring to improve risk coverage and audit effectiveness.

The Opportunity

You will help build the roadmap, workflows, tools, and team capabilities needed to move Internal Audit into a more data-driven, AI-enabled model.

You will be expected to:

• Build and execute the audit analytics and AI roadmap.
• Identify opportunities to automate audit planning, testing, reporting, and issue follow-up.

What We’re Looking For

• 12+ years across internal audit, external audit, audit analytics, risk, finance transformation, data analytics, or related disciplines.
• Big Four or national public accounting foundation strongly preferred.
• Strong audit, risk, controls, SOX, compliance, or finance-process credibility
• Meaningful experience using analytics, automation, AI, or emerging technology to improve audit, risk, finance, compliance, or controls processes.
• Experience with tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Power Automate, Copilot, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, machine learning, or AI-enabled workflow transformation.
• Skilled at translating complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences.

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, data science, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline is expected. Professional credentials in accounting, audit, information systems, or data and technology disciplines are highly valued.
