Job summary

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required.
• At least 4 years of professional legal experience post bar admission.
• Active bar membership and eligibility to practice in the appropriate court.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Brief the Immediate Office and relevant Associate General Counsels on significant litigation developments.
• Develop litigation strategy with DOJ and HHS stakeholders.
• Draft or review and comment on pleadings, motions, and memoranda of law.
• Prepare HHS witnesses for deposition, hearing, and trial testimony with DOJ coordination.
• Prepare responses to discovery requests and manage document productions.
• Perform litigation functions in administrative forums or federal court on behalf of the Secretary.
• Conduct internal investigations and advise leadership and program clients.
