Acorn Hill Animal Hospital in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Senior Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join our growing small animal practice. This role combines high-quality medical care with leadership, mentorship, and the development of clinical standards within a collaborative hospital setting.

You will serve as a clinical leader, mentor junior veterinarians, and work with management to grow the hospital while upholding compassionate patient care and outstanding client service.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Current Texas veterinary license or eligibility for Texas licensure.
• Several years of experience practicing small animal medicine.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience or interest in general surgery and dentistry.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• A passion for mentoring and developing other veterinarians.
• A commitment to high standards of patient care and medical excellence.
• An interest in contributing to hospital culture, medical protocols, and practice development.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, compassionate medical care to small animal patients.
• Perform comprehensive wellness examinations, diagnostics, treatment, surgery, and dentistry as appropriate to your clinical interests and experience.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for associate veterinarians and veterinary support staff.
• Encourage evidence-based medicine and help promote consistent, high-quality medical standards throughout the hospital.
• Collaborate with other veterinarians on complex cases, treatment plans, diagnostics, and patient management.
• Help establish, implement, and uphold medical protocols and best practices.
• Support a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
• Promote excellent client communication and education to strengthen long-term relationships with pet families.
