Job summary

Burns & Wilcox, the leading wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager in North America, seeks a Senior Associate Underwriter. The role focuses on renewal and new business, risk evaluation, and pricing to support an Underwriter’s book of business.

You will mentor junior underwriters, contribute to marketing plans, and travel to strengthen client relationships. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of underwriting support or related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 3+ years of personal underwriting support or industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and supervise a portion of an Underwriter’s book of business, focused on renewals and new business.
• Evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing to prepare quotes.
• Assist Underwriters to develop and execute marketing plans to drive new and renewal business, including in-person agency visits, telemarketing and distributing marketing materials.
• Mentor and train Associate Underwriters as needed.
• Travel when necessary to foster strong client relationships.
