Job summary

Ares Management in Los Angeles seeks a Corporate Treasury Senior Associate to support the company's global treasury team across North America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific. You will participate in cash management, liquidity forecasting, and foreign exchange risk mitigation across multi‑jurisdictional footprints.

You will design, create and maintain financial models, execute critical treasury activities, and be deeply involved in day‑to‑day cash, liquidity, and risk management.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in global Treasury or investment management.
  • Forecasting, creation and maintenance of financial models.
  • Knowledge of treasury operations including banking and cash management/forecasting in US and international contexts.
  • Experience partnering with business units to drive efficiency and collaborative outcomes.
  • Proficiency with treasury tools and banking portals (local and cross-border wires, ACH).

Responsibilities

  • Perform cash management operations across regions with multi-currency pooling and intercompany funding.
  • Support treasury activities for fund groups including Secondaries, Private Equity, and Co-investment.
  • Forecast facility requirements and manage credit facilities.
  • Coordinate with regional finance teams across time zones for global cash positioning.
  • Design and implement liquidity and capital planning forecast models, including stress-testing functionalities.
  • Collaborate with Capital Solutions to monitor FX, interest rate, and counterparty risks.
  • Drive automation and implementation of treasury workstations (Kyriba, FIS) and global governance.
  • Develop PowerBI dashboards to improve visibility and efficiency in liquidity forecasting and reporting.
  • Lead coordination for global cash positioning and banking relationships; ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Support rating agency relationships and other strategic treasury activities.
  • Prepare, deliver, and present global treasury reports to executive leadership.

Job Description

The Ares Corporate Treasury Department is responsible for capital planning, global cash and liquidity management, and foreign exchange risk mitigation across the organization’s multi‑jurisdictional footprint. The department supports the business through several key functions spanning North America, EMEA, and Asia‑Pacific, ensuring effective treasury operations across diverse regulatory, banking, and market environments, including:

  • Balance Sheet Management: Developing strategies to leverage and monetize current and forecasted balance sheet assets across global entities and jurisdictions, while optimizing capital efficiency at both the corporate and regional levels.
  • Capital Markets: Monitoring equity, debt, and loan capital markets to execute fundraising transactions that support anticipated capital requirements across multiple currencies and international markets.
  • Liquidity and Cash Management: Forecasting and monitoring global cash needs, managing multi-currency liquidity structures, and facilitating cross-border transactions to support international entities and investment platforms.
  • Foreign Exchange Risk Management: Identifying, evaluating, and executing derivative transactions to mitigate currency risks.

The Corporate Treasury Senior Associate will provide strategic support for the company’s global treasury team. This role is expected to participate in design, creation and maintenance of financial models and forecasts, the execution of critical treasury activities, and remain deeply involved in day-to-day cash, liquidity, and risk management across the organization. This role requires knowledge in treasury systems, experience operating in complex international environments, and a strategic mindset to drive global process standardization while accommodating regional requirements.

Primary Functions And Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform cash management operations, including multi-currency cash pooling, intercompany funding structures, and short-term investment management across regions.
  • Support treasury activities for fund groups, including Secondaries, Private Equity, and Co-investment.
  • Support the management of credit facility activities, including forecasting facility requirements.
  • Coordinate with regional finance teams across time zones to ensure optimal global cash positioning.
  • Assist with the design, creation and implementation of liquidity and capital planning forecast models, including stress-testing functionalities.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Solutions team to assess and monitor foreign exchange, interest rate, and counterparty risks.
  • Drive initiatives for assessment and implementation of treasury workstations (e.g., Kyriba, FIS), including global system governance, regional workflow optimization, and integration with enterprise platforms.
  • Drive enhancements and automation projects to improve visibility, efficiency, and accuracy in liquidity forecasting, cash management, payment processing, and reporting, including creation of PowerBi dashboards.
  • Lead coordination for managing global cash positioning, banking relationships, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate to ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and country‑specific regulatory standards.
  • Support global corporate treasury responsibilities, including rating agency relationships, financial commitments tracking, and other strategic transactions.
  • Preparation, delivery, and presentation of global treasury reports to executive leadership.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • CTP preferred, CFA a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in global Treasury or investment management.
  • Demonstrated track record in hands-on forecasting, creation and maintenance of financial models.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of treasury operations, including banking and cash management/forecasting in both U.S. and international contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business units to drive operational efficiency and collaborative outcomes
  • Proficiency with treasury tools and banking portals, including familiarity with various payment methods and flows (local and cross-border wires, ACH).
  • Strong technical acumen for solving complex problems using enterprise tools (report writers, SQL, Excel, Tableau/PowerBI, or Anaplan).
  • Experience in business operations.
  • Proven ability to lead process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with banks and both internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$130,000 - $150,000
