Job summary

Oliver James in Stamford, CT seeks External Auditors looking to transition into Corporate Accounting & Finance. You will gain exposure to FP&A, M&A, Fund Accounting, Technical Accounting and System Implementation through long-term, single-client engagements.

No prereqs beyond an Audit foundation and willingness to take on new challenges; CPA preferred, not required. This role focuses on up-skilling you into an A&F professional to accelerate your career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required or preferred.
• CPA certification preferred, will consider those in progress.
• Minimum 3 years of External Audit exposure, Big 4 or large CPA firm.
• 3 busy seasons in external audit (2 seasons + a summer considered).
• Strong professionalism and ability to communicate with C-Suite executives.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, FASB & SEC/ASC rules and standards.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to FP&A, M&A, Fund Accounting, Technical Accounting & System Implementation work.
• Engage in long-term, single-client advisory engagements to up-skill in A&F functions.
• Communicate effectively with C-Suite level stakeholders.

Long-term, Single Client Advisory engagements, focused on up-skilling you as an A&F professional & helping you hit the next gear in your Career. (NOTE: no pre-requisite knowledge is required, other than an External Audit foundation & an openness/willingness to take on new challenges)

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters degree preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred - will accept those who are in process
• Minimum of 3 years of External Audit exposure, with a Big 4, or large CPA Firm.
• Minimum of 3 busy seasons in external audit- Will accept 2 main busy seasons & a summer busy season
• High degree of professionalism required- including the ability to communicate with C-Suite level individuals.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, FASB & SEC/ASC rules and standards.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., macros, pivot tables, etc.) desirable.
