Job summary

KPMG LLP in the United States seeks a Senior Associate to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice in Virginia. You will support multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance and help clients with tax issues related to state and local income and franchise taxes.

The role includes reviewing state income and franchise tax estimated payments, extensions and tax returns, and assisting in handling notices from state tax authorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of recent experience preparing and/or reviewing state income tax returns and multi-state tax issues.
• Masters degree preferred; CPA/JD hours or JD/LLM consideration.
• CPA certification a plus and state income tax return review experience required.

• Masters degree from an accredited college or university preferred; Bachelors degree with requisite hours to pursue CPA certification or JD/LLM; CPA certification a plus.
• State income tax return review experience required
• Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients
• Excellent writing, compliance, communication, and tax research skills
• Capability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
