Job summary

Church of the Apostles Houston is seeking an Associate Rector to join the senior staff and work alongside the Rector during a season of growth. The role centers on pastoral oversight, spiritual formation, and organizational leadership across parish life.

The Associate Rector will supervise ministry staff, develop lay leaders, and translate vision into sustainable ministry while fostering unity, humility, and excellence within the team.

Qualifications

• Senior clergy leadership experience.
• Ability to oversee multiple ministry areas.
• Experience in adult formation and discipleship programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and direction for adult discipleship and formation ministries.
• Oversee staff including Children’s Pastor, Youth Pastor, Curate, and other ministry staff.
• Lead and coordinate outreach and evangelism initiatives within the parish.
• Partner with Operations, Worship, and Senior Staff to align ministry planning and execution.
• Preach and teach regularly with theological clarity and pastoral warmth.
• Ensure safeguarding certification and compliant pastoral practices.
