Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a Sr. Associate, Mechanical Engineering to support new product development and factory sustainment, translating requirements into mechanical specifications and testing plans.

You will perform structural and thermal analyses, conduct validated tests, and collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and documentation, while generating ECOs as needed. Applicants should be pursuing a master’s degree or recently completed one.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical/Aerospace/Engineering Mechanics or related field, or completed within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for new product development and factory support of existing products.
• Translate product requirements into a mechanical specification and test plan to be used for development.
• Execute verification testing as defined by the mechanical specification and test plan.
• Conduct design analysis and testing, both structural and thermal, to prove design will meet customer requirements.
• Responsible for understanding customer needs, generating test procedures and finally executing the test.
• Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required.
• Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation.

Education

Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering or related field
