Job summary

Marx Okubo Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Associate MEP Engineer for its Dallas hybrid office. You will lead multi-disciplined MEP projects, perform condition assessments, energy audits, and system evaluations, and coordinate with clients and site teams. Travel to project sites is required.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in engineering design/evaluation of building MEP systems, strong leadership, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Box. PE and LEED/CEM are a plus.

Qualifications

• Candidate has 15+ years in engineering design/evaluation of building MEP systems.
• Strong leadership and project management track record.
• HVAC and plumbing system expertise; basic electrical and fire protection knowledge.
• Familiar with national and Texas codes; energy audits and sustainability consulting.
• Professional communication, multitasking, and client interaction skills.
• LEED or CEM certifications are a plus.

We are currently accepting applications for a Senior Associate MEP Engineer in our Dallas office. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office.

Essential Functions

Leverage your passion for and knowledge of Sustainability theories and laws to:

• Conduct property condition assessments (PCAs)
• Provide estimations of probable costs
• Perform energy audits, system commissioning, forensic evaluations, construction management and design and evaluations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems
• Interact with site personnel and clients
• Engage in a diverse array of projects offering unique challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact
• Travel to project sites is required

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Ideal candidates will possess a BSME, BSEE or BSAE w/mechanical or electrical specialty, PE, and 15+ years of experience in the engineering design and evaluation of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems
• Demonstrated leadership and project management successes are expected
• HVAC and plumbing system expertise is required, along with a fundamental knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems.
• Candidates will possess a working knowledge of national and Texas state building codes and experience in facilities engineering, energy audits, commissioning and sustainability consulting.
• Ability to integrate your passion for Sustainability with practical legal requirements to provide expert solutions to our clients.
• LEED or CEM certificates are a plus
• The ability to communicate in a professional manner, remain organized, and multitask are essential
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid and Box

Physical Requirements

• Candidates should have the ability to:
• Operate a computer (keyboarding) and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier/scanner/printer
• Use visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens
• Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
• See and respond to dangerous situations
• Respond quickly to sounds
• Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
• Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
• Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
• Travel approximately 25% of the time both in and out of state
