Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Chicago seeks a Senior Associate with 5-7 years of leveraged finance experience to join its Finance & Financial Services practice. The role involves managing sponsor-backed acquisitions, cross-border and multi-currency deals, and complex intercreditor arrangements, with direct client interaction and transaction closure in a dynamic, high‑performing environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years' experience in leveraged finance/private credit at a national firm.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in one or more preferred jurisdictions or eligibility to become licensed.
• Residence in the Chicago area required at or prior to hire.
• Familiarity with LMEs, unitranche structures, and sponsor finance market terms.
• Strong drafting skills and commercial awareness.
• Big-law training and experience with sophisticated deals.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage sponsor-backed acquisition financings, including cross-border and multi-currency deals.
• Handle cash-flow and asset-based lending, including senior and superpriority revolvers.
• Oversee multi-lender/syndicated facilities and intercreditor/subordination arrangements.
• Facilitate mezzanine and subordinated debt, preferred equity co-investments, and structured solutions.
• Conduct liability management transactions, including negotiation of intercreditor mechanics.
• Execute amend-and-extend transactions, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
