Job summary

University of Washington Recreation seeks an Associate Director for Recreation on the Seattle campus. You will provide executive oversight for fitness, intramurals, mindfulness, and waterfront programs, supervising three staff and guiding large-scale initiatives.

Join a collaborative team, contribute to strategic planning, and help deliver inclusive, data-informed recreation services for students and the campus community.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required; minimum 2–3 years in Recreation or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people and projects.
• CPR, AED, First Aid certification required (may be trained after employment).
• Interpersonal skills to work with a diverse student, faculty, staff, and colleague population.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise three professional staff and oversee large-scale student and temporary staff.
• Provide budgeting guidance; oversee approximately $1 million annual budget requests.
• Participate in department-wide strategic planning andInclusive programming.
• Lead assessment efforts to measure program effectiveness and outcomes.
• Represent Recreation on campus committees and support students and colleagues.
