Job description

Work on next-generation risk solutions on the Beyond AML Modeling & Innovations (BAMI) team within Enterprise Risk. This onsite role in McLean, VA applies AI and machine learning to build and scale innovative approaches to assessing risk, spanning NLP, graph-based modeling, and Generative AI. You will have the opportunity to drive 0-to-1 initiatives that turn novel, complex problems into production-ready models.

Salary range: USD 123,300 - 154,800 per yearly. (McLean, VA: $135,600 - $154,800; Richmond, VA: $123,300 - $140,700 for Sr Assoc, Data Science.)

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-focused data science solutions
• Apply a broad technology stack including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark to extract signals from large-scale numerical and textual datasets
• Develop machine learning models across the full lifecycle, from design and training to evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Use your interpersonal strengths to translate model and analytics complexity into clear, business-oriented goals

Skills and tools you’ll use

• Machine learning and deep learning, including clustering and classification
• Natural language processing, sentiment analysis
• Graph-based modeling and Generative AI
• Time series, plus SQL, Scala, and R

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) plus 2 years of data analytics experience, or you are in the process of obtaining this degree with the expectation it will be completed on or before the scheduled start date
• Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration, or you are in the process of obtaining one of these with the expectation it will be completed on or before the scheduled start date
