Barings seeks a Senior Associate, Client Service Manager to serve as a trusted partner for institutional and retail clients. Qualifications

  • Experience in asset management, retail investment practices, or management consulting supporting financial services.
  • Experience servicing retail investors such as Investment Platforms, Family Offices, RIAs, etc.
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to build trust and engage with clients and colleagues.
  • Basic technical knowledge of fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative strategies.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and address complex client servicing needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; CRM tools (Salesforce) preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization under deadline pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Client Onboarding and stakeholders to ensure a smooth onboarding for new clients.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of assigned clients and deliver superior service.
  • Manage and coordinate resolution of complex client inquiries across accounting, regulatory reporting, and operations.
  • Maintain client data and service records in CRM (Client360).
  • Deliver client communications on events, reporting updates, and product changes; coordinate messaging with teams.
  • Attend client meetings virtually and in person; prepare materials and host meetings.
  • Maintain proactive dialogue with clients and share updates on progress and initiatives.
  • Support broader Barings U.S. client base as part of the Client Experience team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Client Service Manager with experience supporting institutional and retail clients. This individual will serve as a trusted partner and primary point of contact, responsible for the successful resolution of day‑to‑day administrative and operational client needs while working closely with Distribution, Operations, Legal/Compliance, Investment, and other internal teams to ensure exceptional end‑to‑end service delivery.

Success in this role requires strong relationship management capabilities, excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, and a working understanding or ability to quickly learn retail client investment processes and needs. The ideal candidate brings a client‑first mindset, a proactive approach to issue resolution, and the ability to anticipate client needs while identifying service enhancements that strengthen Barings’ value proposition.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Client Onboarding team and cross functional stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for new clients, staying closely informed of progress and acting as a point of escalation to resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of assigned clients and work closely with internal partners to deliver superior service while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience and strengthen the relationship.
  • Manage and coordinate resolution of complex client inquiries, including topics related to accounting, regulatory reporting, performance, cash flow activity, legal documentation, and other operational processes.
  • Maintain updated client data, interactions, and service records in CRM application Client360, ensuring transparent internal communication and alignment with broader client relationship team on issues, opportunities and developments.
  • Deliver client communications related to key events, reporting updates, product enhancements, operational changes, firm announcements, webinar invitations, and other strategic communications while partnering with Distribution, Investments, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance on appropriate messaging and delivery.
  • Attend agreed client meetings virtually and in person, coordinating the agenda and materials, hosting discussions, and leading on takeaways as agreed with distribution and investment teams. Coordinate, prepare materials, and host operational due diligence meetings.
  • Maintain proactive, ongoing dialogue with clients, sharing regular updates on the firm’s progress, strategic initiatives, and other organisational developments.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects aimed at improving the overall client experience, and provide support across Barings’ broader U.S. client base as part of a collaborative Client Experience team.
Qualifications
  • Experience in asset management, retail investment practices, or management consulting supporting financial services.
  • Experience servicing retail investors such as Investment Platforms, Family Offices, RIAs, etc.
  • Demonstrates high emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust, navigate sensitive situations thoughtfully, and engage with clients and colleagues in an empathetic, solutions-oriented manner.
  • Basic technical knowledge of fixed income, multi asset, and alternative strategies
  • Proven ability to coordinate effectively across cross functional teams and address complex client servicing needs timely and accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex investment, operational, and reporting concepts for various internal and external audiences.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with CRM tools (Salesforce) preferred.
  • Highly organised, detail oriented, and effective at managing competing priorities under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.
